With the PCIe-TV SkyStar 2 eXpress HD card, TechniSat offers a complete solution for digital satellite reception on your computer. Using the compact PCI Express card you can receive digital radio and TV channels via satellite to your PC, not only in DVB-S SD standard, but also in HDTV DVB-S2 transmission
standard. In addition, using the DVR function you can also save digital radio and TV programmes with ease onto your PC's hard disk or, for example, play them back later using the timeshift function.
Installation is straightforward. The compact SkyStar 2 eXpress HD is connected through the PCI Express port (PCIe) on your PC. PCIe is the successor of PCI, PCI-X and AGP and offers you a comparably higher data transfer quota. Once you have installed the software package included in delivery plus the driver, there is nothing else to stop you enjoying TV on your PC. Thanks to the easy-to-use DVBViewer TE2 software, you'll quickly come to grips with all important functions in the TV menu. With its comprehensive features, such as the "SiehFern INFO" (ePID) electronic programme information service, SkyStar 2 eXpress HD offers you everything you could want from a digital television.

HDTV
HDTV stands for High Definition Television, thus for outstanding picture quality. With HDTV, pictures can be displayed in much greater detail and with much finer gradations. Contrast and contours are more precise and colours truer to their originals. Furthermore, the wide screen format on HDTV broadcasts corresponds much better to human visual perception. So it creates a more vivid impression overall.
DVR
An integrated digital video recorder (DVR) enables you to record digital TV and radio programmes without loss of quality. Besides recording and playing back TV and radio programmes, digital technology enables use of a wide range of additional handy features such as time-shifted television (Timeshift).
Timeshift
This very handy and popular type of recording enables you to start playing back while you are still recording. Hence recording and playback take place simultaneously. Recordings being played back can be stopped at any time and resumed again later. It is also possible to repeat favourite scenes and skip over unwanted sections. You can now set the start time and progress of a programme yourself.

This receiver is compatible with all TechniRouter products. It supports SCR technology with the extended DiSEqC protocol as per European standard EN 50494. SCR (Satellite Channel Routing) is a technology that is used to transmit multiple satellite channels to a specified receiver at a unique frequency in a single cable system.
